About the project
West Lunga is a four-station, run-of-river scheme on the West Lunga River in Zambia’s North-Western Province, with a total installed capacity of 80MW across four phased 20MW generating stations designed to produce 500 GWh annually.
All technical and environmental feasibility studies are complete, government development rights have been secured, and the project is positioned to advance to financial close following final Technical Bankable Feasibility Study (BFS) processes.
Phase 1 (20MW) is underpinned by a 20-year take-or-pay PPA under active negotiation with a large, listed mining offtaker, with ZESCO wheeling arrangements also underway.
Ngoli Energy is entering exclusivity for an 85% stake in the project, with pre-emption rights over subsequent phases; development costs are expected to be reimbursed at financial close.
