About the project

Mulembo Lelya is a late-stage development hydropower plant in Zambia with a planned capacity of 80 – 118MW, designed to generate approximately 410 – 426 GWh (P50) annually by harnessing the Mulembo and Lelya rivers.

The project is shovel-ready: all critical studies are complete, permitting is advanced, and the EPC tender is set to launch, positioning the project for financial close.

Heads of Terms have been signed with a Canadian-listed copper mining group for a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA); regional offtaker discussions and SAPP wheeling arrangements are also underway.

The project is being structured to participate in the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP), enabling cross-border energy trading to industrial users in the DRC, South Africa and beyond.
